Coram Children’s Legal Centre’s Child Law Advice Service provides free legal advice and information on child and family issues.
The Child Law Advice Service provides advice on topics such as:
- Parental disputes about child arrangements
- Child protection
- Attending Court
We also run a dedicated telephone line for calls on child and family law. Please visit the Child Law Advice website for full details of the service.
Our Legal Practice Unit (LPU) has a legal aid contract to provide legal casework advice, assistance and legal representation to clients in relation to children law matters, such as:
- Care proceedings
- Working with a local authority through the pre-proceedings process
- Special guardianship arrangements
- Disputes about child arrangements
Our LPU has limited capacity but from time to time we may be able to take on new family law cases. If you have a family law case and would like to check if we are able to help, please send us some brief details by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you do not qualify for legal aid, we can consider whether we can assist you on a privately paying basis and advise you of what fees we would charge.
If you do not hear back from us within 5 working days, that unfortunately means we are not able to assist you and we would suggest that you contact other lawyers by using these websites: http://solicitors.lawsociety.org.uk/ and http://find-legal-advice.justice.gov.uk/.
