Coram Children's Legal Centre is one of the UK's leading providers of education law advice and casework. We offer advice and representation to children and young people, parents and carers who have concerns relating to their own or their child's education. Advice is also provided to advocates and child care professionals, as long as there is no conflict of interest with the child or the family.
This service is only available for people who are eligible for Legal Aid - if you are unsure whether you are eligible we can carry out a means assessment with you over the phone.
Areas of education law we commonly advise on include:
If you are able to visit our offices, we can give you free legal advice and representation on education law issues, and we can meet you to discuss your case.
Coram Children's Legal Centre works with Community Legal Advice to provide free legal advice and information on education matters through a dedicated education law advice helpline to callers who qualify for Legal Aid.
CCLC can also provide legal representation if the case needs to be taken to court.
Call an adviser on 0845 345 4345 and follow the instructions. The Community Legal Advice Education Law Line is open on Mondays to Fridays from 9.00am to 8.00pm and on Saturdays from 9.00am to 12.30pm.
Most of the calls concern admission appeals, attendance, bullying, complaints about the school or local education authority (LEA), exclusions, special educational needs (SEN) and uniform disputes.
