Who can make an application to court for a contact order?

Who can make an application to court for a contact order?

The following people can make an application to court:

-a parent;

-a person who has a residence order in relation to the child;

-a guardian;

-a step-parent who has treated the child as 'a child of the family';

-a person with whom the child has lived for at least three years out of the last five years; and

-any other person who has obtained the consent of all those with parental responsibility.

If you are not any of these people then you will have to obtain leave (permission) from the court.
