Can I get a passport for my child?

Can I get a passport for my child?

A parent will need parental responsibility to obtain a passport for their child. The application for a passport must be signed by one parental responsibility holder. In the case of unmarried fathers who have obtained parental responsibility through a parental responsibility order or a parental responsibility agreement, the original order or agreement must be sent with the application to prove the father has parental responsibility.

Young people aged 16 or 17 are able to apply for a passport without parental consent.
