How long will a child's name stay on the child protection register?

How long will a child's name stay on the child protection register?

Usually, the decision to keep a child's name on the register is reviewed every six months, though if circumstances require it, a review may be held earlier.

A child protection review conference can decide that a child's name should be removed from the register. This decision will only be made when the child protection review conference is satisfied that the child is no longer at risk of significant harm.

A young person will also be removed from the register once he or she turns 18.
