If the defendant is sent to prison he or she will not be allowed to contact the victims or victims’ families without permission. If the child has received unwelcome contact such as letters or telephone calls from the defendant, a parent or the child should call the Prison Service Victim Helpline. The Helpline number is 08457 585112.
