System Reform

International programmes: System Reform

We strengthen the capacity of existing state bodies and, where necessary, establish new state structures and systems and the regulations that support them to effectively protect the rights of children, implement legislation and provide appropriate services and facilities. We also work to reform care institutions and detention centres in order to improve the treatment of children, and strengthen gate keeping mechanisms and community services in order to prevent unnecessary institutionalisation.
