  • Project: International Network of Child Law Centres
  • Establishing a global network of child law centres
  • Funding Source: Sigrid Rausing Trust

In December 2007, the Children’s Legal Centre launched the first child-law specific global network. The International Network of Child Law Centres aims to provide organisations working in the area of child rights law with the opportunity to discuss the major child rights law issues, the obstacles and challenges in using the law to protect children’s rights, and to share and develop strategic approaches and innovative ideas to meeting these challenges, in order to build capacity for effecting long-term change in their respective countries.

The inaugural conference was held in South Africa, during which the eight founding members exchanged ideas, experiences and good practice regarding strategic litigation, communication and fundraising and decided upon the future work of the network.
