  • "Democracy and Children's Rights in India and the UK - Law, Policy and Outcomes "
  • Funding Source: UKIERI (British Council)

The CLC is a partner organisation to this joint project between the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex and the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi, India. The project began in January 2007 and will continue to run until 2011. Its aim is to substantially improve educational links between India and the UK.

Activities in the project will include exchanges of researchers, academics and practitioners between the two countries as well as information exchange and a total of four conferences. Individuals participating in the country exchanges come from the two main organisations as well as from the CLC, Children’s Rights in Goa (a member of the International Network of Child Law Centres) and VMS Salgaocar College of Law, Goa, India.

In April 2008, the Human Rights Centre and the CLC organised a conference in Colchester "Realising Children's Rights: Comparative Socio-legal Perspectives". Click here to visit the Conference webpage.

Time Frame for this Project: 2007-2011
