- Project: Child Protection Analysis
- Analysis and assessment of the child protection system in Albania in light of international standards
- Funding Source: UNICEF
Under contract with UNICEF, the Children’s Legal Centre (CLC) recently completed a research and analysis of the child protection system in Albania, covering both the legal and regulatory system and the social welfare system in the country.
The project included an institutional and system mapping, situational analysis, and the identification of system strengths, weaknesses and recommendations. The CLC Team working on the project identified the laws, policies and practices making up the national, regional and local child protection systems and assessed these in light of international standards. The report of the analysis also highlighted the extent to which relevant laws and policies are implemented in practice at local level, including an analysis of service providers, routes through the child protection system, and identification of strengths and capacity gaps.
